Windsor Passage

EXHIBITED at North Carolina Art Education Association Member Exhibition, NCAEA Conference 2022, CAPE FEAR COMMUNITY COLLEGE, Wilmington, NC

Painted on location in St. Charles, IL, 2017, 2022
Acrylic on canvas

This work was originally painted en plein air on a brilliant midsummer day in St. Charles, Illinois, and further developed in my studio in North Carolina. It features rudbeckia triloba, Brown-Eyed Susan, and liatris pycnostachya, Blazing Star, which both flourish as wildflowers on the midwest prairie but here have been cultivated as ornamentals along the inviting walkway leading to this stately home.
