Artist Statement
My practice of making art is a little mysterious: it is equal parts deep reverence and frivolous fun!
I see the vastness and the truth of creation and each artwork is a celebration of what I witness. My approach to representing life (people, animals, places) took root during art school in Florence, Italy. That experience strengthened my connection to classical drawing, and speaks to me even now.
Specializing in figurative art, my intention is to illuminate energy, the spiritual, and the inner life of my subjects. Sometimes I express the human experience through arrangements of vignettes and abstractions. The vitality of my work is enhanced by an intuitive process, where in-the-moment discoveries shape the direction of the artwork itself.
My work is inspired by nature and nourishes the soul: it invites others to slow down. I am grateful to connect, listen, and communicate through my art.
